What is Y strainer?
As the name implies, the Y strainer has a distinctive “Y” shape, whose innovative design enables fluid to flow through two inlets to a single outlet. It is typically equipped with an internal strainer or cartridge to capture solid particles in the fluid.
The primary components of a Y type strainer are the valve body, bonnet, screen, gasket, drain plug and bolt. (Here take Taloar YR670 as an example.)
The Y strainer is a vital component of the pipeline system, used for the conveyance of media. Typically, the Y strainer is installed at the front of the pump, with the purpose of removing impurities from the media, thus ensuring the optimal functioning of valves and equipment.
