1.  What is the function of foot valve?

Control fluid flow: Foot valve is installed at the bottom of a piping system to control the inflow or outflow of fluid. It can be used as a check valve to allow fluid to flow in a specific direction while preventing backflow.

Prevent backflow: Foot valve plays a vital role in liquid systems, especially where there is a need to prevent contamination or backflow. It ensures that the medium does not flow backward into the system when the piping system is shut down or stopped.

Protection of equipment: Foot valve also can protect the piping system and related equipment. By preventing fluid backflow, it can reduce wear and corrosion of the equipment and extend the service life of the equipment.

Stability and fixation: The grid structure and bolted fixtures at the bottom of the Taloar’s foot valve enhance the stability and fixation of the bottom valve. This helps ensure that foot valve can maintain its position and function in harsh industrial environments.

2.  What are the precautions to be taken when installing a foot valve?

The installation of foot valve needs to pay attention to the following points:

Position selection: Foot valve should be installed at the end of the pump outlet pipe, that is, the closest place to the pump outlet, to ensure that after the pump stops working, the water level will not flow back to prevent water backflow.

Installation status: foot valve must be installed vertically at the bottom of the pump suction pipe to ensure its normal operation and prevent backflow of media.

Sealing check: Before installation, check whether the sealing effect of foot valve is good or not, if there is any crack or aging phenomenon, it should be replaced in time to ensure its sealing.

Fixing method: Foot valve is usually fixed on the outlet pipe by bolts or wire fasteners, when fixing, pay attention to the appropriate strength, not too tight or too loose, so as not to damage the bottom valve and the pipeline.

Material and environment: the selection of material of foot valve should consider the corrosion resistance, pressure resistance and wear resistance, in order to adapt to different working environments, and at the same time, pay attention to avoid the use of too wet or subject to strong vibration occasions.

Follow the above precautions, you can ensure the correct installation and use of the bottom valve, so as to protect the pump and water supply system safety and normal operation.
